Oversight
Oversight of all vertebrate animal use at the University of Rhode Island is provided by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The policies for animal care and use are at the link below.
URI IACUC Policies for Animal Care and Use
Applicants must submit application materials to the URI Division of Research and Economic Development at least two weeks prior to the date of the scheduled IACUC meeting.
The forms needed for new protocols, a 3 year protocol renewal, and yearly updates are available in the IACUC menu on the sidebar. Forms must be submitted electronically to robind@uri.edu. If the protocol is part of a thesis, dissertation, or sponsored research grant proposal, an electronic copy of that proposal must be submitted as well.
