B.A. in Psychology

Dr Kathryn Quina
Program Coordinator

Psychology Department,
Program Coordinator for the Providence Campus

Welcome to the URI Providence Campus Psychology Program!

I would like to invite you to discover Psychology at URI’s Feinstein Providence Campus. You can earn your bachelor’s degree or a minor in Psychology, complete one of our applied psychology certificate programs, or just enjoy courses of interest. Courses are offered in day and evening sessions, on-line, and on Saturdays, and you may earn credit for work in the field. We will work with you individually to help you achieve your academic and career goals.

The Providence psychology program is an integral part of the URI Psychology Department, which also offers nationally recognized graduate programs in clinical psychology, school psychology, and behavioral science. Our instructors are URI professors and selected psychologists from the community who are actively engaged in research, the mental health professions and service, including nationally recognized scholars, teachers, and mentors. We also maintain close ties to centers and agencies throughout Rhode Island - http://www.uri.edu/artsci/psy/

A degree in Psychology will provide you with a solid academic preparation, as well as:

  • A better understanding of human behavior and an enhanced awareness of yourself and society;
  • Skills for analyzing and evaluating information and data;
  • Practical career-related and hands-on research experience;
  • Greater interpersonal competence in a diverse world.

Whether you are interested in pursuing advanced graduate study or a career right after your B.A., we can help you prepare. Your faculty advisor and the URI Career Services can assist you in deciding career goals and working towards them.

We encourage you to read our departmental mission statement, which guides our programming.

Please check out our program! Follow the links below to learn more, and then call 401-277-5160 for an appointment with an advisor!
