The International Engineering Program
The International Engineering Program (IEP) at the University of Rhode Island is the nation's most distinctive plan for global preparation of engineers. In the IEP you earn two degrees simultaneously: a B.S. in engineering and a B.A. in German, French, Spanish, or Chinese.
The IEP student studies a foreign language and culture each semester along with an engineering curriculum. In the fourth year of the five-year program the student goes abroad. The first semester is spent taking language, culture and engineering courses in the host language, and the second semester you intern with a reputable engineering firm.
Because of the rapid expansion of global business, IEP graduates are in high demand. The program boasts close to a 100% job placement rate after graduating.
