Update on Print Screen Problems - Friday, 6/18

We were aware yesterday that there is a problem printing PeopleSoft screens with Firefox, for which we have filed a case with PeopleSoft. However, today we heard from a few IE users who are also experiencing problems. We are doing everything we can to resolve this as quickly as possible, but in the meanwhile you might try the workarounds below to print your screens.

For PCs:
Take a screen shot by pressing the Print Screen key on the upper right of the keyboard (or Control and Print Screen), then open Word and paste in the content. If the content is too small to be legible, use Zoom In on your browser before taking the screen shot. You may have to take more than one screen shot to get the entire content. Then print the Word document.

For Macs:
Using Firefox, press Control and click on the PeopleSoft screen you want, then select This Frame, then Print Frame.

Another option is to take a screen shot by holding down the Command and Shift keys and pressing 4. Your pointer will turn into crosshairs that you drag over the content. It will produce a .png file of the content, which you can then print. You may have to take more than one screen shot to get the entire content.

With Safari, there is no problem.

Thank you for your patience as we resolve this.

Print Screen Problem in Firefox
Print screen problems are occurring within Peoplesoft when using Firefox. We have filed a case with PeopleSoft and are attempting to resolve the situation as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, if you can use Internet Explorer or Safari, you should be able to print the screens.

New Student Email System!

We will be migrating all student email addresses from mail.uri.edu to Google-hosted email addresses named my.uri.edu. This is for students only! Faculty and staff email is not affected.

However, employees enrolled into a course will automatically receive a student my.uri.edu account to which all official URI business regarding their studies will be sent. Their official URI employee address will continue to be the @mail.uri.edu address to which all official URI mail regarding employment will be sent.

Employees must not forward their @mail.uri.edu address to @my.uri.edu! The two addresses must remain separate and both must be checked when employee and student status are simultaneous.

For more information, please go to New Student Email System.
