Careers in WMS:

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES WITH A MAJOR OR MINOR IN WOMEN'S STUDIES
College graduates can use their education in a wide variety of occupations.

Women's Studies courses combine effectively with courses in management, organizational development, psychology, history, English, education, social work, nursing, human services, law enforcement, advertising, public relations, marketing, and finance, among others. Employment opportunities exist in non-profit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and business and professional arenas. By emphasizing writing, research, and critical analysis, the program also prepares students for graduate or professional school.

• Comprehensive command of grammar and vocabulary
• Good listening, clarifying, questioning, and responding skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to conduct and clearly explain research results
• Ability to make critical observations
