2011 Fred Joyal Film Prize Winners Announced (More)
Dr. Bernice Lott has been awarded the American Psychological Foundation 2011 Gold Medal for Life Achievement in Psychology in the Public Interest for her work on social changes, including pioneering work in the psychology of women and her recent success in creation of a permanent APA committee on issues of social class. She will be recognized at APA August 5.
Dr. John Grandin, URI Professor Emeritus of German and Executive Director Emeritus of the IEP, will receive the ADFL (Association of Departments of Foreign Languages) Distinguished Service Award from the Modern Language Association "for his many transformative contributions to shaping the future of foreign languages and literatures as a discipline." A special session will be called in his honor at the MLA Annual Convention in Seattle in January 2012.
