For the fall 2012 semester, please note that University is not accepting applications for the following majors:
The Nutrition and Dietetics program is no longer accepting transfer students directly into the major.
The College of Nursing will be admitting fewer than 10 transfer students in to the general nursing program. RN to BS is open to all applicants who have a current RN license in RI.
Nursing, Pharm.D. (0-6 Doctor of Pharmacy), and Landscape Architecture each admit fewer than 20 transfer students per year.
Students who apply to Nursing or Pharm.D. (0-6 Doctor of Pharmacy), and are admitted and enroll with their second choice major, will be unable to transfer into Nursing or Pharm.D. at a later time due to the limited number of spaces in these programs.
Landscape Architecture - February 1
Pharm.D. and Nursing - February 15
All other majors - June 1
Due to very high mail volume, it may take up to three weeks for paper and electronic documents to be attached to your application. Your “to do” list may reflect that we have not received something, when in fact we have received it, but have not yet attached it to your file. We appreciate your patience at this very busy time of year. Please continue to check your status regularly.
Admission Requirements for general acceptance to URI as a transfer student:
Click here for Curriculum Sheets listed by major within each college.
When you apply, you will receive a confirmation from the Common Application that your application has been submitted. URI will also send a letter acknowledging that we have received your application and telling you how to check the status of your application online.
A completed application includes:
- Official high school transcript and official transcripts from all colleges you have attended, sent directly from those schools, whether or not you desire or expect credit for such work
- A completed Common Application and URI Supplement, which are both available and preferred online.
- $65 application fee
- Academic letter of recommendation
Some programs have limited enrollment. We encourage you to select both a first and second choice major on the URI Supplement.
If you are seeking readmission to degree candidacy at the University or have received a degree from URI, do not fill out this application. Contact Enrollment Services for the proper forms to be completed.
