At URI, we’ve always had to think bigger than ourselves. And now that the world’s changing by the minute and in need of a constant flow of big ideas—solutions for our planet and its people—URI is prepared to help, with your choice of 80 majors.
At URI, we continually establish new majors in response to the world’s evolving needs, mixing language and science to create international programs in Business, Engineering, Pharmacy, and more. To increase opportunities for your future, we also offer numerous minors, from Leadership Studies to the only Underwater Archeology program in the world. We also offer concentrations within majors to ensure that you learn about what interests you most. Study pharmaceutical engineering as a Chemical Engineering major, or Criminal Justice as a Sociology major, or follow a prelaw, premed, predental, pre-physical therapy, or preveterinary curriculum.
No matter what you study at URI, from performing arts to pharmacy, languages and engineering, nursing, textiles, psychology, or environmental science, you’ll be prepared to make your mark on the world. A meaningful mark.

New England Regional Tuition Program
If you are a resident of a New England state other then Rhode Island, The New England Board of Higher Education provides discounted tuition for a select group of majors. Tuition and fees are estimated and subject to change.
URI Honors Program
Our Honors Program aims to enrich your academic experience with smaller classes, interdisciplinary subjects, and an annual colloquium that explores current, recurrent, or emerging issues. If you are graduating in the top 10 percent of your class, we invite you to learn more!
